What is the hidden challenge of your life path?
The axis of your lunar nodes links your South Node (your familiar patterns, your inherited reflexes) to your North Node (the direction that makes you evolve). With your date, time and place of birth, I calculate this axis in your chart, by sign and house, and reveal it to you right away.
North node, south node: what the lunar nodes axis reveals
The South Node describes your foundations: the abilities, reflexes and patterns so familiar that they require no effort, but which can become a limiting comfort zone when you take refuge in them. The North Node, exactly opposite, points to the direction that calls for conscious learning: the experiences and qualities your chart invites you to develop in order to evolve. Reading this axis by sign reveals the inner transformation at stake; reading it by house shows in which areas of life it takes concrete form.
What the calculation gives you
- The sign of your South Node and your North Node
- Their houses, if your time of birth is known
- The reading of your axis by sign: the inner transformation proposed
- The reading of your axis by house: the areas of life involved

Frequently asked questions
What are the lunar nodes in astrology?
They are the two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the plane of the ecliptic (the Sun's apparent path). The North Node and the South Node are always exactly opposite and form an axis. In karmic astrology, this axis symbolises the life path: the South Node describes familiar patterns and foundations, the North Node the direction of evolution.
How do I calculate my north node?
The sign of your north node is calculated from your date of birth; its house also requires your time and place. This calculator relies on the Swiss Ephemeris: enter your birth information and your full axis appears immediately, for free.
What is the difference between the north node and the south node?
The South Node represents what you already know how to do: inherited abilities and reflexes, comfortable but sometimes limiting. The North Node, opposite, represents what you are learning: a direction that requires conscious effort and truly makes you evolve. One does not go without the other: you lean on the South Node to move towards the North Node.
Do I need to know my time of birth?
Not for the signs: the nodes change sign roughly every 18 months, so the date is enough. The houses, however (the areas of life where the axis plays out), depend on the exact time and place of birth. Without a time, you get the axis by sign only.
